Casology Feature - Week 3

Hello friends, I am in week 3 of my feature at CASology. Last week I shared some Stamp-less cards. Today I am sharing some of my favorite CAS creations from the past. Some are one layer cards, some are stamp-less, some have sponging etc.

1. Hand cut stencil and mask of maple leaf from a magazine, I used the stencil to sponge the leaves with distress inks. I love sponging, and specially these maple leaves!!

2. The front layer is torn and glued to the card stock, and sponging at the base card, 2 big googly eyes, and a few splatters to finish off.

3. Hand-drawn caterpillar, using a circle stencil, and sentiment from "Words to rescue"- by Steve Fadie, my favorite stamp set

4. The first 2 lines are from a quote and I added the rest of the words on my own, and stamped the foot steps in grey ink.

5. This is one of my favorite card, it is computer generated, based on opposites, I have 6 sets of opposites on this card. The last line is again added my be.

6. One of the most simplest of my cards, and one of my favorite as well. I sponged the sea, and added the last line to the quote.

7. This one is also a very simple card, it took me about 15 mins to put together this. But I may take more time if you are not into sewing.

8. This was made for a hop to show my support against domestic violence, so all purple, and a one layer card,  this is my favorite stamp set from Mama elephant - freestyle floral. I colored the flowers using markers.

I hope you like the collection of cards today, and I thank you all for visiting, and leaving me some kind words on this featured posts for the last 2 weeks. You guys are the best!!!

My favorite stamp set

Hello blogger peeps, I hope everyone is doing great, its mid week already. Our temperature is a bit better still in one digits. I had to run an errand early in the morning, and hated it. It is so cold, despite completely bundling up to point where I was moving like a robot ;) specially my arms. I really hope it the temperatures increase soon, another few days.
I am sharing a card which I made yesterday afternoon. It is a one layer card, using mama Elephant - freestyle florals, this set is my most used and one of my favorites too. I stamped the flowers in black and used 3 different shades of red markers to color the flowers.
The sentiment is from Uniko Studio and Woodware crafts. I ran through a red gel pen o the center petals.
I absolutely love this.

Heater to the resue ;)

Hi Friends, I was finally able to step foot in my crafting room yesterday and today. As you all know about the cold spell which left the world paralyzed, it has a great impact here in Macau too. The temperatures dip to the lowest in last 60 years, with the real feel in minus. I told you that the houses here are not equipped with central heating. Last week we bought one heater for my daughter, but ended up buying 2 more yesterday evening. So all the important bedrooms has one heater, we managed a good night sleep, even with heater, the morning was bit chilly, but not as bad as the other days.
I am sitting with the heater again, and I decided to blog from my craft room today. I usually sit in my living room with my laptop. But there is no way I can heat up that humongous room even with all 3 heaters ;)
Anyways, I am happy that I managed a way to craft. I am sharing 2 cards.
The first one was made yesterday afternoon. It is a one layer card. I always wanted to try the reflection of silhouettes to make this card. But guess what? - I didn't had the right stamps I wanted to use for this card, so I ended up drawing the silhouettes. I was aiming for a guitar with my drawing, it looks like one to me. I hope you can see it too.
I first  masked a tiny circle and sponged some orange ink around, and then with a very light hand sponged the sun using yellow ink. Then I hand drew a guitar, and fuzzy cut it, and used the negative as my guide for drawing the images and the reflections as well.

The sentiment is from 2 different brands. "friend" is from Wplus9and the sentence is from woodware crafts. It is a pretty simple card, and I hope my drawing has not messed up the look of it.

I hope hand drawn silhouettes will qualify here.
 SILHOUETTE

The second one up is made using some craft paper, I really don't know the name...maybe you guys can help me out with the name. It has ridges, and it is super light. I used my zig-zag scissors to trim it and added the stripes. Masked and sponged the circle using Pale Ochre ink, and added a an anchor die cut to the focal point. The sentiment is fro Avery Elle - handwritten noted.

I am using Challenge #59,
which says blue with white or cream.

Just for fun, leaving you with a picture of my current crafting with a heater, as you can see the big window isn't insulated, so it makes the room pretty cold. I love the fact that it is bit bright today, as we have heavy rains in the forecast for next 10days!!

Colorful butterflies wishes

Hey all, happy Monday to all. I am sharing few cards which I made last week, here it is very cold that I couldn't get any crafting done over the last few days.
Macau houses don't have central heating, and this is the coldest it has got in last 8 years for us. It was as low as 1, and the real feel was in minus. Imagine when you don't have central heating, and your house is as cold as the outside. So I was cooking but not crafting, the kitchen was the best place to spend time in.
Anyway poor kiddos and hubby has left for school and work. My son is writing is grade 10 Final exams for 1st semester, so no way missing school today. The govt has cancelled schools for the elementary though.
I am sitting with my daughter's heater now, and writing this post ;)

This is a one layer card, I had used the butterfly stamps from Uniko Studio, stamped in black and used markers to color these.  had used a gel pen as well, which is hard to show in the picture. Actually for some reason this card was pictured 3 times in last 3 days, and I couldn't get a good picture of this. This is the best picture, but still doesn't do justice to the real card.
The happy birthday sentiment is also from Uniko, and the other is from Kaisercraft.

This one is made using a water color panel. I used blue, green and orange water colors on a acrylic blocka nd sprayed some mist and then pressed the water color paper to get the background. Then I used Heidi Swapp's mixed media stamp, and stamped in orange. Added the leaves die cut from MFT, and a flower to finish off. The sentiment is from STAMplorations.

Casology Feature - Part 2 (No stamping cards)

Hello friends, I am in week 2 of my feature at CASology.
Before I share my cards for today, I want to tell you the challenges I have/ had when I started card making. I live in Macau, it is a country by itself. That being said, I cannot find a single stamp/ card making supply here. The only supplies available here are paper(Plenty of good card stocks, specially the textured and glossy ones) and some tiny pigment ink pads, and some embellishments.
I cannot buy anything online, credit card won't work or shipping issues :( , neither can I open a PayPal account, Macau is not listed!!!. Even though I can afford to buy a few supplies, but there is no way to get any supplies here....lol story of my life :D :D
So, I go to Hong Kong to buy my craft supplies, and do know that it is another country, so immigration clearance and all other formalities need to be done. Need to sail, so always look forward to a smooth sail....sometimes the sea is really rough!!!!. BUT, I have a GREAT store there(Actually I found 3 stores), which have most but not all the stamp companies.
So I had to think of a way to make cards using bare minimum supplies. I went for printing my own sentiments and sponging. It is a great way to make a card. You might not do it every-time, but at times it comes in handy.
I LOVE stamps and other supplies, and I really wish I can get my hands on all... LOL every crafter's dream. I know most of you have good supplies, so this is for people like me who start out with not much on hand, and find it difficult along the way ;) I now have decent supplies :) , but still love to use the bare minimum approach every now and then.

Today I wanted to share with you guys some of my previous cards from my past posts. All these cards have one thing in common - Just bit of ink for sponging and no stamps, only computer generated sentiments.
All the sentiments are from my quotes collection, and I printed off the computer, I do work on the fonts and design. Let's scroll down.

1. This card is very special, this was my first HM at CASology. It is very easy to recreate this, just take few stitches and add a pendant and few more stitches. Bit of sponging with a very light hand on the top edges.

2. This sentiment is part of a poem, I had shared the poem in the original post. The stencil is handmade, just a tiny embellishment.

3. Printed sentiment and used double sided tape for the hearts, followed by glitter.

4. Printed sentiment, just sponged the ink and few sequins.

5. Printed words, and also the soil splatters using a font, and added strips chipboard for the road.

 6. Printed sentiment and also the flamingos are from a font, and sponged the water and added the glitter glue for rain. There are tons of free fonts available, you just need to spend some time to see how these work.

7. Masked and sponged circle, with a hand-cut stencil for the lion, and printed sentiment.

Clear jar

Hello all, a very crappy weather here, it's cold and rainy, so I am all bundled up in my comfy home, and sharing a card which I made 2 days back.
I made this card for the current CASology challenge. This card is designed on the google drawings.
It is a pretty simple card, made using the jar from DeeDee's digital image(I won few images a couple of months back). The sentiment is not a quote this time, just some common words from our day to day life.  I don't know how many of you will get the message on this card.
It is a card to comfort someone, who is stuck in an odd situations and need some assurance that it is ok to be like this on some days. We all don't feel great/do great things everyday, life is all ups and down. I am a bit sentimental type of person.....lol...there are so many possibilities with the cue, why this?? that's me.
I used the jar to interpret the cue "clear".
This is my card, bit quirky but here it is - all CAS.

I added some translucent glue to get the jar sparkling, and a handmade cat from Essentiale.

Thank you for stopping by, I really appreciate your kind  feedback :) Have a great day!

Black is the color nowadays

Another 2 cards which were sitting on my desk to be shared.
Both are made using a black textured base.

The first one is the second card which was left from few days experiment, click here to see the post.

I simply ran through the big shot using MFT rectangle stitched die cut, and adhered both the pieces to the card base,. Added  die cut sentiment from Spell binders in gold and few rhine stones, didn't feel like adding anything else here.
